What this Product Does

The D-Link DAP-2555 is a wireless N dual band POE access point which is powered by the Cloud Command technology to allow you manage the devices easily from everywhere via the internet. With Cloud Command technology, you can manage, monitor, and configure the multiple DAP-2555 deployment in multiple locations from all over the world where the internet access is available. You can logon to your account in dlink.cloudcommand.com via your internet browser to add or remove user access rights, make any security changes or view graphical reports. With this Command Cloud technology, the complication of maintaining multiple access point devices in multiple locations was in the past.

The DAP-2555 supports dual band simultaneous technology for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. This will ensure that all mix wireless devices that work either in 2.4GHz or 5GHz can connect to the network. Installing the devices is easy and it supports Power over Ethernet to let you install the access point device in area where power outlet is not available yet such as in ceilings.

Advanced Security

Like other traditional wireless access points, the DAP-2555 POE wireless access point supports the WPA personal / Enterprise security encryption. But as an addition that makes this device different with the others, the device supports the Individual Device Authorization (IDA) which automatically identifies and secures each individual connected client on an individual basis.

Moreover, the DAP-2555 supports the two factor authentication – a very secure authentication method. Two-factor authentication is a method of providing two independent identification methods for authentication, for example combination of your normal password plus the key value from the Token. Well, implementing a two-factor authentication is complicated especially when you deploy such a Token device with one time password. Typically enterprise-class businesses deploy this complex infrastructure as part of their security system for remote access authentication.
