Open University Giving Greater Access to Microsoft Certifications

The Open University has been providing for over 40 years far-distance courses, enabling everyone to access a course from wherever they are. It has allowed those who have not been able to access courses, due to where they live or full time employment, to take courses that are not normally available to them. Since the success of Cisco courses ran at the University, they have looked at other I.T vendors to provide I.T courses for far-distance learners.

The Open University has been growing quickly as education institute for I.T training and it hopes to add many of the Microsoft Certifications to its academic courses. Microsoft have currently released at the Open University a course tailored to the needs of the Open University and its students.  This course, a 30 credit module known as Microsoft Server Technologies TM128, focuses upon networks and how Microsoft Server technologies can be used. It acts as an introduction to Microsoft Server Technologies, which then allows you to go onto complete other Microsoft certifications, such as the MCITP.

 

The Microsoft Server Technology course will allow individuals who have not been able to access Microsoft certifications on prior occasions to work towards gaining a full Microsoft certificate. This course is very much suited to beginners in the field and tries to improve knowledge of networks and server technologies, develop practical skills on Microsoft Server technologies and develop and improve any other appropriates skills.

 

Furthermore, the course provides you with all the material you need to pass this exam, as well as some of the learning material for a Microsoft Certification, if you decide to take your qualifications further. This module can also count towards degrees at the Open University, enabling I.T students who may not have been able to access Microsoft specific courses, be able to take it as part of their degree.

 

A Microsoft certification is a great way to improve your I.T skills on a vocational level. It proves not only that you have the knowledge, but the skills as well. There are a number of certifications available, including the MCITP, MCSE and MCSA, which can be work towards by taking the TM128 Microsoft Server Technologies course.
