A typical dish TV DVR has Extended EPG (Electronic Program Guide). Along with this it has nine days of programming stored onto the hard drive for quick and easy access to program listing information. It has enhanced Automatic and Manual Event Timers. This programs the satellite receiver to record directly to the hard drive or automatically tune to a program at a designated time for viewing. It is basically Dolby Digital. Along with these it has two slink optical digital outputs for Dolby Digital and Linear PCM digital audio which has parental control locks and custom locks. It also has fully detailed program information including theme lists, favorites list browsing and One-touch channel return.
