The Looks
The Sabertooth P67 is a good looking motherboard in brown and dark brown color. The two PCI-E slots are properly spaced, all SATA ports, headers and power connectors are well placed for a neat and easy access connection. The Thermal Armor catches my attention the only board that comes in this kind of bullet vest like suit. Asus claims that it has two main purpose first, to protect the system against the heat generated by the Video Cards and other components second, to improve air circulation. Does it really performs the job or is it just a plain gimmick?
Specs
The Sabertooth P67 is built under the P67 chipset that supports the latest core i3, i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge processors in socket 1155 platform. With 4 DIMM slot supporting dual channel DDR3 in1866/1800/1600/1333/1066 MHz up to 32GB of RAM. It supports 2 PCI-E slots in 8X/8X or a single 16X configuration. It supports multi GPU for both Nvidia SLI and ATI CrossfireX. It has 3 PCI-E 1X and 1 PCI slot. It provides 4 SATA 3GB/s in black ports, 4 SATA 6GB/s in brown and white ports. It also has 1 power eSATA and 1 external SATA 3GB/s. It has a total 4 USB 3.0 and 14 USB 2.0 to make it sure that you never run out of these ports. It has 2x 1394a Firewire, 8 channel High Definition Audio Codec, optical S/PDIF and a Gbit LAN port.
What Makes This Board Tough?
The Sabertooth P67 belongs to the TUF military class motherboard that uses high quality components that passed the military standard for extreme durability. It uses solid Japanese capacitors, MOSFET's and an Alloy Chokes that is made of special type metal that can handle up to 40A of current thus eliminates noise vibration. As I previously said it has a TUF Armor and a TUF Thermal Radar that uses multiple sensors to detect the real time temp, it automatically adjusts fan speed to maintain the normal heat level.
The Features
Asus is the first one who develops the EFI easy mode users friendly graphical BIOS just like you're in a windows OS. You can easily navigate the BIOS settings using mouse not a traditional old fashioned BIOS settings. This board uses the ESP (Efficient Switching Power) design that provides a maximum power efficiency up to 90% that decreases your computer power loss which is generally caused by heat. This motherboard also features the 8+2 DIGI+VRM which is the digital way to do the overclocking that you can easily adjust the voltage and frequency. A traditional Memory OK that ensures the memory boot compatibility. What I like here is the extra ports for USB and SATA at the front panel and back panel for conveniently easy access.
