Embedded Single Board Computers
Embedded single board computers can be very powerful and useful as they tend to be built in a certain way that they guaranty standard form factors that speed up development duration, increase the flexibility, and on top of that offer scalable performance and advanced features to fill a wide variety of applications that demand reliable operation.
To sum up quickly, single board computers simply are built on one and only single circuit board for which the design is centered on a single or even a dual microprocessor.
Those single board computers can be found everywhere from offices to shopping centre. Those devices are most of the time used as the base of an actual personal computer, laptop and even notebook. But once personal computer development sped up, motherboards were preferred to the existing single board computers. They are designed to be incorporated with other components in order to form in some cases industrial equipment or even an electronic product.
Embedded single board computers can be used in an industrial environment like TFT LCD displays, industrial touch screens or any industrial LCD monitor. They obviously need to be rough to be able to cope with the harsh conditions of an industrial environment that can be rain, dust and cold.
One of the most well known manufacturers of embedded single board computers is a company called Aaeon which has gained a great fame and experience over the years. They insist in the fact that they are providing products that are environment friendly as well as suitable for various application fields to meet the customers’ needs.
It apparently seems even if embedded single board computers are personal computers (PC) compatible, they are not necessarily Linux compatible. So if you ever need to buy single board computers and use Linux operated machines, you should make sure that they support it.
It is obviously necessary to use other components with an embedded single board computer to ensure that the electrical device works but you can be sure that the embedded single board computer is one of the main factors that will guaranty the good performance and speed of a device.
In the end, embedded single board computers are used in various devices and can be used along side industrial LCD displays, industrial touch screens or any other electrical device. They are being used a lot but motherboards tend to be used more often when it comes to personal computers.
