Is Samsung Tocco Worth The Money?
Samsung Tocco is one of the latest addition to the wide range of touch screen phones offered by Samsung. With a spacious full touch screen, minimalist design, and powerful camera features, this phone is basically a mobile powerhouse
Designing & Presentation: The overall designing is sleek, smart and there is a defined crispiness about the layout. The size is pretty comfortable too at just about 99 mm in length and when compared to other contenders in this segment, the Samsung Tocco may be the smallest one. Further, the phone is easy to grip and fits snugly into your palm. To give it some unique design elements an extra cover, i.e. the battery cover has been provided and it comes attached to a screen protector. This is a handy way of ensuring that the screen is protected against scratches. In terms of color hues, a very formal set of shades has been chosen and it is only the front fascia that has a bit of gleam to it, sporting a slightly shinier shade of black. What does make it appear like a high-end offering is the metallic-looking, thin silver-colored lining that has been done around the speakers and underneath the touch screen. The front screen measures 2.8 inches and this makes the Tocco one of the most portable touchscreen mobile devices.
Performance: The main strip on the front surface has a 'End' button that does double duty and it can be used as the On/Off button too. A very hand feature — the small 'hold' button which can be pressed to disable touch functions. The one feature that makes Samsung Tocco a unique touchscreen proposition is its interface that can be personalized according to individual preferences. The customization is offered via a unique Drag & Drop System which can be used to literally 'put' any of the chosen Widgets on the main screen. The entire process is rather simple — the main screen has a sidebar and when tapped, it opens and the arrow that emerges contains all the Widgets. From here, you have to simply choose and drag the applications you want on the main screen.
Others: The image clarity is brilliant and the 320 x 240 pixel resolution ensures sharpness of the pictures and the text. Another impressive feature is the ease with which the music playback function can be operated and the 220 MB built-in memory too comes handy. The battery life is simply stunning and offers more than ten hours of uninterrupted performance, even when playing the music. The camera has definitely impressed us with its 5.0 mega-pixels resolution and comes with autofocus, face detection, smile shutter and several other advanced camera capabilities. The audio quality has been enhanced by providing built-in speakers and the new Samsung Blade stereo jack. Your MP3 quotient is taken care of by the Windows Pocket Media Player 10 that comes as a part of the standard packing. Storage memory expansion is available via the SDHC microSD slot.
Conclusion: if you are searching for a handset that is a bit unusual, but performance-oriented and is equipped with some luxury and chic design elements, then the Samsung Tocco is your answer. This handset will not get outdated for quite some time and its style quotient has a universal appeal.
