Trading Computers Guide: What is the most reliable motherboard for my Trading Computer?
Hello My Name is Eddie Z, I've been a full time stock trader and electronic markets participant for over 23 years. Additionally I have been configuring, testing and using (and abusing) trading computers and stock trading computers during the same period. As a full time electronic markets participant and computer nerd, I can offer traders a unique perspective into trading computers.
Traders ask me nearly every day, why so much thought behind the motherboard? The motherboard you pick for the trading computer, stock trading computer or day trading computer is essential to attaining reliability and dependability in your trading computer system. My research and surveys show that trades value reliability and dependability as the most important feature of a trading computer, stock trading computer or day trading computer. The two components in a computer that experience the most problems are the motherboard and the power supply over time. Therefore it is critical that you stick with the very best brands. My personal favorite is Asus. Asus has consistently put out the very best motherboards over the years. Other good brands of motherboards include EVGA and Gigabyte.
The best motherboards for trading computers, stock trading computers and day trading computers are the Asus Sabertooth X58 motherboard and the Asus P6X58D. The Sabertooth is truly a special motherboard. It has been tested by an independent third party to military standards. The board has been put through a series of rigorous tests for heat and vibration and has passed with flying colors. It a very durable and dependable board. Additionally, it has slots for multiple video cards. Lastly, the Sabertooth x58 comes with a 5 Year Warranty. This length of warranty is unheard of in the motherboard world!
The Asus P6X58D Premium motherboard is also an excellent choice as it features Sata II and Sata III ports for fast data transfer, three PCIE x 16 slots for up to 12 monitors supported and a very convenient extra LAN port. You can actually connect 2 separate internet connections to this board without having to add a LAN or Network card.
A word of warning: Do not buy a trading computer where the builder or manufacturer refuses to reveal who makes the motherboard! This usually means they are using inferior products and you run the risk of having issues within the first few years.
