Basic Overview about Computer RAM Memory
RAM is the intrinsic part of the computer's functionality. Adequate and good quality RAM is one of few things that computer requires to run efficiently. DDR SDRAM: denotes Double Data Rate SDRAM. As the name suggests it works twice as fast as the SDRAM. This is actually done in a very innovative manner by speeding up the computer's clock cycle to increase the functionality and the speed of the computer. This revolutionary concept originated in 2002 and is capable of operating at 333 megahertz.

DDR2 SDRAM: This RAM is even more efficient than DDR SDRAM. Even this works on the same principle of manipulating computer's clock cycle for faster turn around time. DDR2 SDRAM can work at the speed of 400 megahertz which is certainly more than welcome for effective computer operations.

DRAM: DRAM denotes Dynamic Random Access Memory. This type of RAM performs a very effective function of renewing the data that is stored in its data bank. If this functionality is not performed then there is likelihood of data getting corrupted which can hamper the performance of the system.

RDRAM: Actually speaking RDRAM is another kind of DRAM that was created by a company called Rambus Inc. Though basic functionality of the two is same however RDRAM was created to work with increased bandwidth enabling it to work at higher speeds. This is done by manipulations that are made in the pipelines from which data gets transferred. However one impact of this is an upsurge in the latency rate at which data travels.
