Toronto,Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) is now offering its visual fault locator using 650nm visible laser source that emits a bright beam of laser light into a fiber to allow users to see a break as a glowing or blinking red light.The visual fault locator is intended for examining all kinds of patch cords,ribbons or bunched pigtails in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.It easily isolates high loss points and faults in fiber optic cables and is an ideal solution for applications in telecommunication,LAN, WAN,fiber data links and CATV systems.
This portable visual fault locator, model 08211, can be used as an identifier and conducts measurements in both single mode and multi-mode fibers.It provides the capability of end-to-end fiber identification and mechanical fusion splice optimization.The fault locator accurately locates breaks, bad splices and potential fiber problems caused by imperfections, micro-bends and macro-bends.It offers a maximum measurement distance of 5km and boasts a rechargeable battery supporting 30 hours continuous work.
