One product that does just that is Chroma Key. And while you may not be familiar with the name, chances are you've seen it in action time and time again. Chroma key is a technique whereby there are two images or frames, and one is removed or made transparent, revealing another image behind it. This technique is commonly used in TV news for weather forecasts where the weatherman appears to be standing in front of a map. In fact it's a blue screen and not a map at all.
Lighting plays a key role in the look and feel of any set, and lighting professionals know that any tone and/or mood can be established in mere moments through the use of soft color lighting gels. Stick on and peel off vinyl lettering and graphics also provide an easy and fun way to enhance a set while establishing name or brand recognition for a program or product.
