How to Fix an LCD HDTV Backlight

The backlight on a high-definition LCD TV will help brighten the image and reduces the blurring of the image. However, you will find the backlight is too bright and actually disrupts the TV picture. All LCD HDTVs that have an installed a backlight control function that allows you to increase or decrease blacklight, correct any issue you have with the picture.

Instructions

1 Power on the TV and press the "Menu" button on the remote. A panel options on the screen. 2 Select the "Picture" option, and a variety of other options appear. 3 Select "Backlight" and use the left and right arrows to increase or the level of the backlight to reduce. Adjust the lights until the image is corrected. 4 Press the "Menu" button to close out the picture options and start watching the TV programming.

Tips & Warnings

If you light that from the side or corner of the screen and you see bright areas on television, is due to the frame of the LCD screen is not correctly connected. You should note that when you first begin using the television (especially if you're watching a dark scene). You can not correct this issue and the need to return the TV....

Pricey for now

The disadvantage of LED technology is cost. The Samsung and Sony are very highly priced for their size. But the price for LED-backlit models will likely fall and the technology will trickle down to smaller sets over time. That's what happened with 120Hz technology, the motion blur in most LCDs will minimize. Initially only the largest, set premium priced LCD 120Hz technology, but about 25 percent of the sets with 40-inch or larger screens now offer. In our last full Ratings of LCD sets, 23 models feature 120Hz technology, and many of them are competitively priced for their screen size. For all their merits, the Samsung LN55A950, Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8 still fall short in the viewing angle, an Achilles heel for LCD's. She had noticeable deterioration in picture quality when playing even a slight angle. But viewing angle is not an insurmountable problem. Other LCD TVs have been successfully addressed, particularly the Panasonic TC-37LZ800, TC-37LZ85 and TC-32LZ800. All three have a virtually unlimited viewing angles that a plasma TV right.
