How to Replace the Screen on an HP Pavilion DV2000

Turn off your laptop and open it so that the screen is facing you. Remove the six screws securing the screen bezel (plastic frame) to the LCD screen with your Phillips screwdriver. Four of the screws are at the top of the bezel while the other two are in the bottom corners. Remove the bezel from the LCD by gently pulling it away by its top corners.
Step 2
Unplug the cable that connects the LCD to the side of the inverter board. The inverter board is the thin green circuit board that provides power to the computer's backlight and is located just under the LCD monitor.
Step 3
Use your Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws located on each of the corner hinges that connect the screen to the main body of the laptop.
Step 4
Lift the LCD display out by the corner to remove it from the back frame. Gently lay the screen face down over the keyboard.
Step 5 Laptop LCD Screen(LCD Screen )
Unplug the single cable that runs from the laptop's motherboard to the back of the LCD monitor. This is a thick grey cable that connects near the top of the back of the screen. The LCD screen will now be free of the computer.
Step 6
Remove the LCD from the computer and set aside. Remove the three screws on the side of the old LCD to free the metal mounting bracket. Remove the mounting bracket and transfer it to the new screen, using your Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws.
Step 7
Place the new screen in the computer and reassemble in the reverse order you took it apart.
