The Asus UL50VG makes use of some innovative technology such as the Asus Power4Gear enabling the user to control the usage of power according to the specific tasks being performed, coupled with an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo for ultra-low voltage and maximum energy efficiency this Asus Laptop really delivers long life from its batteries were Asus are claiming up to 12 hours usage, pretty impressive considering its 15.6in screen.

But what undoubtedly makes this Asus Laptop Notebook work well in the real world arena is its GraphiX Boost technology. What this effectively gives the consumer is the option to have super real graphics performance utilising the dedicated Nvidia® GeForce® G 210M Graphics Card and switching between this and an integrated graphics system providing more efficient and better power usage as and when required. A really nice feature of this technology is the ability to switch between the two options on the fly via a button provided at the top of the keyboard. This technology of course is not unique, but it is very underused and usually reserved for much more expensive machines than the Asus laptop.

The Asus UL50VG laptop really is a good all round performer providing high quality multimedia entertainment on the move, its 15.6 inch 16:9 aspect ratio high definition display and high definition Altec Lansing® speakers deliver a crystal clear picture and audio experience which should keep even the most hardened movie buff entertained.

Its well spaced and large keys make it a pleasure to use for long periods and the layout delights including the provision of a full numeric pad a feature sadly lacking from other laptop manufacturers. The multi-touch touchpad is also nicely responsive and its large textured area provides a good feel to it.

Another nice feature provided by the Asus (unlike most other laptops on the market) is that rather than the providing the standard Home Premium version Windows 7 OS the UL50VG is installed with Windows 7 Professional 64Bit providing encryption and enhanced network functionality.

Overall then this Asus laptop delivers an impressive array of technologies offering the consumer a reasonably priced and rare combination of portability and power in a light, stylish and slim 2.3kg machine.

Of course all of this technology and performance comes at a price and although the UL50VG may not suit everyone's price pocket you can buy Asus Laptops to suit all budgets.
