Acer Notebooks On Intel Calpella
Intel would now face a shortage in respect of its Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 for notebooks Calpella in the Intel platform.
According to Digitimes, Acer will not be a stranger to this situation. The Taiwanese brand fairly optimistic about its future sales of notebooks on Intel Calpella have placed orders for Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 in very large quantities.
As a result, Intel has trouble keeping up. Especially, obviously, Acer is not alone in providing in Core processors i3, i5 and i7 from Intel, the CPU with a resounding success.
There also are rumors that Apple would also have to order lots of Intel processors for Calpella platform.
Still, the Santa Clara firm must ration supplies of Core i3, i5 and i7 to its customers. Here priority is given to major customers and therefore by definition the main sellers in the market. Acer has therefore no need to worry as HP or Dell for example.
However, draining it marks a smaller number of Calpella laptop could be without as many processors Core i3, i5 and i7 they wish. They should in fact adjust their product lines and product launches. Asus like Sony, which does not form part of the Top 5 worldwide, could make such charges.
When Softex Taipei, which runs from 8 to 12 April 2010, Asus will present many of its new laptops in Calpella platform. We also learn that the brand could use more Nvidia graphics chips than before.
According to Vice President Kevin Lin from Asus, the brand will present the Softex Taipei models incorporating USB 3.0, the Asus N61J 15.6-inch format and Asus N82J at size 14 inches.
But the Taiwanese will probably find it difficult to provide as much Asus N82J notebook and generally 14 inches because he wants a shortage currently affecting several components essential to the production of laptops, including 14-inch slabs.
In addition, Asus is also faced with difficulties of supply of branded graphics cards AMD / ATI. Suddenly, he plans to increase the number of models integrating an Nvidia chip to solve this problem.
