Disk Defragmentation—How to Defragment Hard Disk Properly
Most users know defragmentation can speed up computer and also tried to defragment disks in hope that computers can run fast like new. It is true that defragmentation is a good way, but before defragmenting disk, you are supposed to learn how to do it properly in order to save your time and energy.
In fact, defragmentation is not an easy job if you want to do it manually.
You should make full preparation ahead of defragmentation, such as clear up the junks, check error and then you are able to defragment disk properly and perfectly.
The first step is to clean up junk files or information in the hard disk. You may not realize that how many junks are accumulating when operating the system. As a matter of fact, the junks are produced by various channels, for examples, temporary files created by installing application, cache files left by browsing the Internet, DLL files produced by deleting the software or error files when shutting down computer forcedly. All of the files mentioned above belong to junk files, so you can imagine what a large garbage dump the computer has to serve as. In this regard, you can get rid of those junks so that share the burden of defragmenting disk.
As for how to remove those disturbing junks, different people may choose different ways. Some green hands are likely to use Disk Cleanup program provided by Microsoft, while old hands prefer to use more powerful tools like Advanced Defrag or do it manually.
Then, for checking and restoring the disk errors, you can choose the disk scanning program of Windows, of course, on the condition that you have enough time and patience. I am sure through such long and time-consuming scanning, you can restore most errors. That is right, just most errors. And, if you want to cover all the mistakes, you should take a professional defragmenting tool into consideration.
