LCD screen has been the standard notebook computer display device

Since 1985, the world's first notebook came out. Liquid crystal display ( LCD screen ) has been the standard notebook computer display device. However, in different time notebook computers adopt different materials and technologies: mainly by sequence the dual scan passive matrix color display DSTN-LCD (commonly known as pseudo-color display) and active matrix display-active matrix thin-film transistor color display TFT-LCD (commonly known as True color monitor).  Here let's know more about their characteristics. What are they applied for at present.

For the DSTN (Dual-Layer Super Twist Nematic), it refers to the dual scan twisted nematic,that is to say, double-scan mode scan through the twisted nematic liquid crystal display to complete the display. DSTN-LCD color display is not real, it can only display a certain color which is far from the display of the CRT. So it's called "pseudo-color display." As DSTN-LCD's contrast and brightness are lower, you can observe the screen within smaller range and poor color display, especially slow response. This screen is not suitable for high-speed full-motion images, video playback and other applications. It is generally used for text, tables and static image processing. And now you cann't find this screen on the market. Only in some second-hand laptop still use it.

As to TFT (Thin Film Transistor) LCD screen, it is formed by liquid crystal pixel. And the pixel behind integrated thin-film transistors drives each one on the screen. usually, there are four ( a black, three RGB color) thin-film transistor-driven independent pixels emitting colored light, which can display 24-bit color depth for true color. This can display high speed, high brightness, high contrast display screen information. Nowadays, TFT-LCD is the best LCD device and close to the effect of CRT monitors. Commonly seen laptops are adopted this TFT LCD screen, just as this S10 LCD Screen.

As the development of technology, we have more and more advanced apparatus. That provides us enjoyment and convenience. Just like the LCD screen, we can have more visible pleasures.
