How to Repair Two Common Realtek AC97 Audio Problems Fast
Playback is not ideal
When we experience the use of Realtek ac97 sound card, we probably may find the playback is not as ideal as we expected. And compared with other ordinary hard sound cards, system utility rate of Realtek ac97 soft sound cards is a little bit higher. If its audio driver has not been installed properly, snaps, crackles and pops may occur.
In order to fix this defective playback problem fast we can try below easy-to-follow steps.
Click the volume control icon on the right bottom of the screen and mute the Stereo Wide in Volume Control, and then open the advanced option to disable its 3D effect; finally mute all the other unused audio devices.
Additionally, playback performance also can be increased by this way:
Put your mouse on the Start menu click on it, and then select run, put in “dxdiag” and click OK to open the DetectX Diagnostic Tool box, select Sound, in the DetectX Features section and the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level part, adjust the settings as Basic acceleration.
No sound problem
If the audio adapter is installed in a right way, and the audio device can be recognized, generally the hardware itself is less likely to be into problems. Then check the following:
Step 1 Are the speakers or headphone connected correctly?
Step 2 Are the speakers or headphone in good performance?
Step 3 Are the audio cables damaged?
Step 4 Has any sound channel in Windows Volume Control been shielded?
