WNDR3400 N600 – High Performance Wireless Router for Gaming and Streaming

The NETGEAR WNDR3400 N600 Wireless Dual Band Router is a high performance router which is designed to support demanding applications such as multiplayer gaming and video streaming. WNDR3400 is powered by the latest and the fastest wireless technology 802.11N standards delivering high-speeds up to 300 Mbps (in ideal conditions), ideal for multiplayer gaming and HD video streaming.
The NETGEAR WNDR3400 N600 supports Wireless Multimedia (WMM) based QoS (Quality of Service) to allow the system to separate video traffic and provide prioritization over other traffic. With QoS for reliable internet connections, you can enjoy multiplayer gaming and streaming smoothly, jitter-free, and lag-free.
WNDR3400 supports dual-band technology that works for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. With 5 GHz frequency band, you can achieve clear network avoiding signal interference, ensuring top speeds and the greatest range which is ideal for gaming and streaming.
Share storage is very essential in networking particularly to store huge HD media and gaming materials. It is therefore the WNDR3400 is embedded with the USB port with ReadyShare technology to provide fast and easy shared access to an external USB storage device. And the good thing with the router is that it supports the green technology for better environment including power and Wi-Fi on/off buttons, Energy Star-compliant power adapter and 80% recycled packaging.
How Secure the Router is?
Parents are always worried of what their kids do when they are surfing the internet and expecting their kids to visit only appropriate contents. WNDR3400 supports Live Parental Control to keep your internet experience safe with the following benefits:

- Protects connected devices through the router such as PCs, gaming consoles, and iPod touch®
Providing separate security and access restrictions for guests using the network is sometimes very important. WNDR3400 supports Guest Network Access. By default the router provides NETGEAR as the SSID name for 2.4GHz b/g/n SSID and the default NETGEAR-5G for 5GHz a/n SSID. You can configure the router and change the SSID default names for security reasons.
To create secured connection, the router supports the recent wireless security Wi-Fi Protected Access® (WPA/WPA2—PSK) and WEP, and the Push ‘N' Connect with Wi-Fi Protected Setup® (WPS) feature ensures a quick and secure network connection.
WNDR3400 provides security protection with NAT and SPI features as well as DoS (Denial of Service) attack prevention. NAT (network address translation) hides your private networks from the public network (the internet) and allows sharing a single internet connection with many computers in the network. Stateful packet inspection (SPI) inspects the incoming traffic thoroughly for false positive packets.
To connect the router to the Internet, you need broadband modem (either Cable or xDSL) and Internet services from your ISP. Connect one end of the cross UTP cable (cable that comes with the modem) to the Ethernet port of the modem, and connect the other end to the WAN port of the router.
