Dell E1505 Monitor Problems
The Dell E1505 laptop has a 15.4-inch to 17-inch widescreen monitor with Ultrasharp SXGA technology and Truelife vision focus. These features were designed to enjoy multimedia applications, such as enhanced video from the Internet or a DVD. However, Dell e1505 ac adapter does have display problems associated with its LCD monitor.
Blackout
Monitor blackout problems are caused by a faulty or burned out bulb, which indicates that the LCD bulb connected to the backlight housing should be replaced. Take the complete unit to an authorized Dell service representative and replace the bulb.
LCD Color And Contrast
Color and contrast problems occur when a color designation in the on-board video chip is not working. Color designations fail to display correctly on the LCD monitor and normal screen color or active desktop is replaced by pink, green and blue screens. Replacement of the color SXGA chip often eliminates this problem.
Inverter
All Dell laptops have inverters that regulate voltage to the LCD screen. A faulty converter can cause the monitor to black out, show different colors or make a "humming" sound when power is applied to the unit. Inverters can be replaced with an original Dell part number by going to the website tech support page.
Video Cable Damage
Video cable damage can cause E1505 monitors to blink on and off. The video cable on the Dell E1505 is located under the keyboard pad. The cable can become damaged due to the constant striking on the keyboard pad. Replace the video cable by lifting up the keyboard and installing the new cable on the left side of the keyboard.
Monitor "freeze"
Monitor "freeze" occurs when the mouse or keyboard "call" to the system does not activate an application. "Freezes" can be caused by improper voltage being received from the AC Adapter to the system board, which affects all components, including the video chip connected to the LCD monitor via the video cable. A reboot can clear this problem but if it continues, the system board and power adapter should be checked.
Solutions
Simple monitor problems can be fixed by downloading a Dell technical guide. These guides don't come with the initial purchase of the E1505 laptop. If you're not a DIY computer repair type, you can take your laptop to a computer store that repairs Dell laptops or ship the laptop to Dell for repair.
